Conceptual and statistical models of stratification of the patients population according to the grades of quality of life impairment
The conceptual model of stratification of patients on the basis of the grades of quality of life (QoL) impairment was developed. The grading of QoL impairment is based on patients stratification according to the decrease of Integral QoL Index as compared to the population norm.
Patients may experience no, mild, moderate, severe or critical QoL impairment. The conceptual model was validated on the population of cancer patients. Statistical model included determination of differences of SF-36 scales between groups of patients with different grades of QoL impairment, testing construct and criterion validity. Regression model for identifying patient's affiliation with QoL impairment group was also developed.
